Adventures in ham radio

WW7D/m will be /M for the 2015 run of the 7th Call Area QSO party (7QP). The contest will be on May 2 and 3, 2015 from 1300 UTC Saturday to 0700 UTC Sunday. In PDT that translates: 6am to midnight on Saturday, May 2.

Last year’s run was a tremendously enjoyable blitz of 29 counties, mostly in south Idaho but also Wyoming and Oregon. This year, my buddy Dave will drive me through a planned 22 Montana, 2 Idaho and 7 Washington counties.

Here is what I have for a schedule. The first column shows scheduled county line crossings. The items in bold are stops. For stops, the start times, end times and stop duration are shown:

Frequencies

I’ll try to stick with frequencies ending in 7s, on CW and Phone from 80 to 10 (whatever bands are open).

Phone: 3.857, 7.187, 14.337*, 21.357, 28.457
CW: 3.547, 7.037, 14.037, 21.037, 28.037

Additionally, I’ll be able to do 6m and 2m by request for close-by stations.

*Note that 20m phone is substantially above the recommended frequency. I rarely find spectrum available near 14.257 MHz, so I’ll be up near the band edge.
